Frigidaire FAA055P7A Compact Small-Room Air Conditioner with Remote Control

Frigidaire FAA055P7A Compact Small-Room Air Conditioner with Remote Control

Designed for rooms up to 165 square feet, this energy-efficient compact air conditioner helps keep indoor air cool in the summer. Easy to operate, the unit provides a variable speed fan, eight-way air-direction control, and electronic controls with a full-function remote control for convenient programming. Choose from Cool, Energy Saver, and Fan modes. The air conditioner will automatically maintain the selected temperature ranging from 60 and 90 degrees F. In Energy Saver mode, the compressor shuts off as needed and the fan continues to run intermittently; when the room heats up past the set temperature, the compressor turns back on and begins cooling again. Choose the “fan only” option for air circulation without cooling. The air conditioner also offers auto-cool and sleep settings, a 24-hour on/off timer, and ionizer/electrostatic air filtration for cleaner air that allergy suffers will be sure to appreciate. Other highlights include tilt-out filter access, LVC Technology (Low Voltage Compensation) to ensure proper operation when voltage fluctuates below normal levels, and a user manual that details several ideas for saving money and energy. The unit features an EER of 11 and an Energy Star rating thanks in part to its 5200-BTU cooling capacity. Choosing Energy Star products can help save up to a third on energy bills, as well as on greenhouse gas emissions. All of which means cooler indoor air without excess costs or impact on the environment. A pleated quick-mount window kit comes included for installation; the width of the open window should measure between 23 and 36 inches with a minimum height of 14 inches. The air conditioner weighs about 46 pounds, measures 14 (15-1/2 with the front) by 18-1/2 by 12-1/2 inches, and carries a full one-year warranty with a five-year limited warranty on the sealed system.

    Great A/C
This is a great little a/c unit. Cools down my 11×12 room quickly. Quiet unit. Convenient remote control is a bonus.

    Not worth the money
Air conditioner works fine but the noise is unacceptable. Plus it’s made in China. After the summer I am going to sell in search of a quieter unit.

this was a good air unit, only on real humid days it leaves something to be desired. I am giving it to a family member and getting a larger unit for next year.

    sounds like a jackhammer
worse than just extremely noisy. I installed it in my old wood house and the vibration sounded (and felt, it shook the whole house) literally like a jackhammer.

Priced well above MSRP right now!
Didn’t buy it here, but this is a very good window AC. It cooled down our room in about 10 minutes (and the compressor doesn’t turn on for three minutes).

A great option for small rooms and cheap people
I got this air conditioner last week during a brutal heat wave and it did not disappoint. Like most air conditioners, it was a bit of a pain to install (took about 15 minutes, not…

Even Too Loud For Drunk Sleep!
I couldn’t even pass out this air conditioner is so loud! I got it last summer for my unbearably hot college apartment and everything went swimmingly.

good airconditioner for a good price
I bought this airconditioner at the same time as a Sharp, hoping that the Sharp would be ‘library quiet` which is not the case.

Frigidaire FAA055P7A Window Air Conditioner Unit
My husband did his homework when he researched window a/c units and Consumer Reports rated this and the 8000btu unit very high compared to other ones.
