Panasonic SRG10G 5-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker

Panasonic SRG10G 5-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker

Take the guesswork out of making perfect rice with this easy-to-use rice cooker and steamer. The handy appliance offers a 5-1/2-cup uncooked-rice capacity and can produce from 2 to 11 cups of cooked rice–great for individual meals or when cooking for the whole family. Simply add dry rice, measure in the water, and turn the unit on. Once the rice has cooked, the appliance automatically switches over to “keep warm” mode, which maintains an ideal serving temperature for up to four hours without over-cooking. In addition, the unit’s see-through glass lid keeps in heat and moisture and makes it possible to check on the cooking progress without releasing steam, while its durable aluminum cooking pan helps ensure even heating and cleans up easily by hand with warm water and a soapy sponge. Other highlights include “cook” and “warm” indicator lights, automatic shut-off, and a stay-cool lid knob and side handles for comfortable transport. A measuring cup comes included. The 450-watt rice cooker and steamer measures 9 by 11 by 9 inches.

    Great little rice cooker
I purchased this as a replacement for a 5+ year old (and smaller) Panasonic rice cooker that fell on the floor a few too many times (the on/off switch/lever eventually broke.

    It’s Okay
Maybe it’s because I left the rice in the pot too long, but a LOT of the rice stuck to the bottom.

    Rice crusty on the bottom
There are two major problems for this rice cooker:
    1. liquid bubbles over when half filled.
    2. Rice crusty on the bottom.

    Godd machine adequate rice
The product works as promised, although we are experimenting with the amount of water as the rice is too dry for our tastes.

Rice cooker overboils the water and leaves countertops messy
As an Asian male college student, I live off cheap and (sometimes) healthy food which includes a twice-thrice daily portion of rice.

    Rice Cooker
I chose this steamer, because it does not have a non-stick coating. I have used it several times, and it works great.

    Decent but not the best
The cooker serves its purpose – it cooks rice well. I’ve had good results for different measurements.
